The US News and World Report got busy ranking things again. This time they turned their attention to hospitals and gave high marks to our own Jefferson Health-Abington Hospital, putting it at 11 out of 250 hospitals.

According to their assessment, “Jefferson Health-Abington Hospital in Abington, PA is rated high performing in 3 adult specialties and 5 procedures and conditions. It is a general medical and surgical facility.”

The assessment scored the hospital based on “Adult Specialty Rankings” and “Procedures & Conditions”. In the former, it ranked highest in Urology 57.5/100 and lowest in Cancer, 42.8/100. In the latter, it gave “High Performing” rating to COPD, Colon Cancer Bypass, Heart Failure, Hip Replacement, and Knee Replacement. US News gave “Average” ratings to everything else.

“Patient Experience” got a single 4/5 rating and four 2/5 ratings.
