Hiway Theater in Jenkintown to host local historian/author Marion Rosenbaum on July 13 | Horror at the Hiway continues on July 12

The Hiway Theater in Jenkintown will celebrate the borough’s sesquicentennial with local historian and author Marion K. Rosenbaum on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30am.

The event will include a special presentation chronicling Jenkintown’s growth over the last 150 years along with insights and rare photos courtesy of the Old York Road Historical Society.

After the presentation, Rosenbaum will host a Q&A and offer signed copies of her new book which chronicles much of Jenkintown Borough’s history.

In related news, the theater will continue its Horror at the Hiway series on Friday, July 12 with a 35mm showing of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The theater offers a Horror at the Hiway membership program through which participants receive a membership card, enamel pin/bumper sticker for two-year members, and access to “secret horror screenings.”

Memberships help the nonprofit cover costs associated with maintaining the historic building and allows the programming of special events, including family matinees, classics, Horror at the Hiway, and the Sci-Fi and Terror-Thon Festival weekends.
