The Hiway Theater in Jenkintown will host a series of special events in September and October.

“Downton Abbey 3: The Grand Finale” will be shown beginning September 11. Specials also include a Horror at the Hiway screening of “Final Destination 2” on 35mm on September 12, a $5 family matinee screening of “The Goonies” on September 13 (free for members), and the Cult Cinema Club’s screening of “Showgirls” on September 20. 

The nonprofit theater’s third annual Terrorthon will take place from October 3-5.

“We will be highlighting horror classics like ‘The Wolfman’ and ‘Don’t Look Now’, alongside cult favorites like ‘Tales from the Hood’ and ‘ReAnimator’,” Shannon Quinty, programming coordinator, told Glenside Local. “We will also be hosting ‘Not so Silent Cinema’ for the first time ever on October 5 as part of Terrorthon to perform a live original score to the 1932 silent ‘Vampyr’.”
