Dan and Chelsea Katz, owners of West Ave Grille Restaurant & Food Truck and Pizza Wheel in Jenkintown, are taking over the former Bernie’s Restaurant & Bar property at 391 Highland Avenue.

“This has been in the works for the last 60-90 days,” Dan said. “The menu will be modern fusion American, with a little bit of everything for everybody. We’re going to have happy hours, live music, food until 1:00am. It’ll be a place where you can bring your kids for dinner and a late hangout spot with an outdoor fire pit. It’s going to be a great community spot.”

Dan said that they’re looking to open within the next few months, approximately late summer or early fall.

“The community’s really excited and so are we. The area needs something like this. We’re going to make it a fun scene for everyone,” he said.
