Katharine Morgan, a Glenside native, graduate of Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, and Coast Guard senior rower, has been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association’s (CRCA) 2025 Athletes to Watch List.
“Katharine has been working incredibly hard this past year to become a better athlete,” says Coast Guard Director of Rowing and women’s team head coach Andriel Doolittle. “All of the time she’s put into training over the summer and winter offseasons is paying off.”
This is Morgan’s second time being tabbed for the preseason honor after appearing on the list last season. She earned a Second Team All-America nod from the organization last year and helped the Bears to fourth place at last season’s NEWMAC Championship, fourth place in the Petite Final of the New England Rowing Championship, and fifth place in the Petite Final of the National Invitational Rowing Championship.
“She started in our program as a relatively inexperienced rower and has shown how much you can grow in four years with effort and dedication,” Doolittle said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what she does in her final spring season.”
Bears women’s rowing will kick off their 2025 campaign on March 22 in Cambridge, racing MIT on the Charles River.
