Former owner of Glenside auto repair business convicted of 8 felony counts for illegal firearm possession

Donte Vaughn, former owner of High Road Automotive at 3021 Mt. Carmel Avenue in Glenside (Abington Township), has been convicted of eight felony counts of person not to possess a firearm, The Times Herald reported.

An investigation began on July 26, 2024, when Abington police received a report that Vaughn, armed with a gun, had threatened another man during an encounter in North Hills. The victim reported that Vaughn had threatened to “shoot this place up” and threatened a second victim saying “I’ll stitch you up too” during an earlier encounter.

Vaughn, 42, returned to the victim’s residence brandishing a black handgun and calling the victim down to the street to fight, police said. The victim refused and Vaughn left the area.

When police searched him, they found a 10mm round in his pocket, and a warrant to search the business uncovered the guns, which included two ghost guns and one outfitted with a machine gun conversion device. Detectives also located body armor, several thousand rounds of ammunition, and narcotics.

Vaughn had a criminal record that prohibited him from possessing guns and is awaiting trial in Chester County Court on DUI and gun-related charges, The Herald said.
