Forecasters issue Winter Weather Advisory, increase snowfall predictions

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 7:00pm on Saturday to 1:00pm on Sunday.

Forecasters are calling for total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches in greater Glenside and surrounding areas.

“Widespread snow is expected tonight into tomorrow morning. Forecast snowfall amounts are between 1-5″ for most. Bitterly cold conditions arrive tomorrow through Tuesday with tomorrow night into Monday morning being the coldest as wind chill values are in the single digits or negatives,” the NWS said in a post.

Cloudy, with a high near 41. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight

Rain and snow likely before 10pm, then snow. Low around 25. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Sunday

Snow likely before 8am, then a chance of snow showers between 8am and 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 15. Northwest wind around 15 mph.
