The photo above shows a group of children from the summer enrichment program at Abington Friends School in Jenkintown during an anti-litter and anti-pollution demonstration at 575 Washington Lane. It was published in The Philadelphia Evening Bulletin on August 4, 1970.

According to the photo’s caption, Kay Chesterman, eight, is the little warrior for a clean environment who is shown holding out a litter bag to a cooperative motorist.
