Firehouse Subs, a national sandwich chain, is targeting Willow Grove for a new location

Firehouse Subs is targeting Willow Grove among other places in the Philadelphia region for a rollout of new stores, The Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

An exact address is still in the works, though a senior director of franchising told The Journal that the sandwich chain may “open 50 to 80 outposts throughout the region”, including “the first 10 Philadelphia-area locations within three years.”

Firehouse Subs operated several Philadelphia-area locations until they exited the market in early 2023 after being purchased by Restaurant Brands International.

The franchise fee for a single location is $20,000, the director told The Journal.

From the article:

Firehouse Subs has increased its incentives for 2026, 2027 and 2028 to accelerate its franchise expansion in the U.S. and abroad. Under the new incentives, a franchisee could receive $75,000, $100,000 or $150,000 in cash upfront for each restaurant they open. The amount offered varies depending on the number of locations a franchisee has signed on for and whether they’re expanding in a new or existing market for the brand.

A typical location occupies between 1,200 sf and 1,500 sf within a shopping center, The Journal said.

Firehouse Subs has over 1,200 stores across 46 U.S. states. The brand was founded in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1994 by brothers and former firefighters Chris and Rob Sorensen. For more on the sandwich chain, you can visit their website.
