Eric ‘Fitman’ Brown: How to get ridiculously fit by doing more work in less time

Eric “Fitman” Brown, an NGA Pro Natural Bodybuilder, a USATF Masters Sprinter, and the owner of The Fitman Performance & Physique Center in Roslyn, is a true connoisseur of bodybuilding.

“I’ve loved fitness and bodybuilding since I was a boy,” the 2022 NGA Mr. Natural Philadelphia champion said. “I’ve studied the physiques and the methods of the past because despite having significantly less technology, these methods got the people who used them into ridiculous shape. These methods still work because they are grounded in unbreakable principles.”

“The late, great Iron Guru Vince Gironda had a novel way of making progress,” Fitman said. “In addition to using the proven, traditional methods of progression like adding weight to the bar or doing more reps with heavier weights, Gironda promoted increasing your training density in order to build muscle.”

What Is Training Density?

“Increasing your training density means that you aim to do more work in less time,” the Roslyn native said. “For example if 4 sets of 8 reps took you 10 minutes to complete on week 1, you would aim to complete the sets in under 10 minutes in week 2 and so on.”

“You would add weight to the exercises as needed. It goes without saying that density training is hard, honest work.”

How To Implement Density Training Into Your Workout

“I’ve used density training at times throughout the duration of my career as a natural bodybuilder,” Fitman said. “I still have my natural bodybuilding clients use density training at times. I’ve also created different versions of density training for the general public that will help them build more muscle, lose more body fat, and get into a shape that they may not have believed was possible.”

“Density training can be hard to implement if you have never done it before. Text “Lean Body” to 267-460-1790 by Friday, 11/10/2023, and I’ll be willing to give you a free health and fitness consultation.”
