Elkins Park Fire Company names 2025 Firefighter of the Year | Fort Washington Fire Company awarded $5K grant

The Elkins Park Fire Company announced that Timothée (Tim) Josset has been named the 2025 Firefighter of the Year.

According to their announcement, Josset began volunteering at Elkins Park Fire Company four years ago and is the sixth member to receive the award established in memory of late lifelong member Charles “Chubby” Obrecht.

“I lived a couple blocks away during COVID and thought I could make a difference by volunteering,” Josset said. “I wanted to give back. Volunteering makes you question yourself, reflect and improve both as a person and a firefighter. I discovered my limits very quickly and it pushed me to start doing more cardio.”

Since joining the Elkins Park team, Josset has earned his Firefighter I and Driver certificates.

“If you’re looking to help, there are more ways than just fighting fire,” Josset said. “We need people to drive the trucks, assist with exterior firefighting or handle administrative tasks at the fire station.”

If you are interested in volunteering, you can fill out the volunteer inquiry form.
