Paris Hair Salon of Glenside celebrated their 25th anniversary of business on January 19, 2000.
Owner Lisa Amodei (better known by her maiden name, Paris) has been running the show at 112 N Keswick Avenue through thick and thin. A 1988 graduate of Abington Senior High School, today she lives just around the corner for her salon.
“I’m very happy I started my own business in Glenside. I still love the art,” Lisa said. “I’m so appreciative for the clientele over the years. We’ve had so many regular clients for so long, and they become more like friends and family than clients, so that’s how we treat them.”
Hairstylists Anna Magliari and Barbara Brown have been with her for long haul.
“I don’t have a partner, so it can be time consuming. Anna and Barbara have been with me roughly 22 years. I’ve known Anna since we were nine years old,” she said. “I also have two other girls for shampoo help, and one part-time shampoo girl.”
“I always had the desire to open my own salon. I wanted to have my future in my own hands. I wanted to be creative and do it myself,” Lisa said, noting that she’s been hands-on from the start. “I’m the owner, but I go into the trenches myself. I try to keep myself humble.”
The salon was named Best of Glenside for the “Beauty” category in 2023. For more on the Paris Hair Salon, you can visit their Facebook page and website.
