Cheltenham police offering steering wheel locks for Kia/Hyundai owners

The Cheltenham Township Police Department announced that it has received a new shipment of Kia and Hyundai steering wheel locks.

The locks are free to residents who own either vehicle make. To pick one up, you can visit the township’s Police Administration Building at 8230 Old York Road, Elkins Park.

Police ask that you bring a state-issued ID and a valid car registration with you for pick up.

In April, the Abington Township Police Department reported an uptick in Kia and Hyundai thefts and/or attempted thefts between March 28 and April 9.
