Cheltenham police bid farewell to retiring Detective Denise Tecce | Command Staff receives 4th PLEAC reaccreditation

The Cheltenham Township Police Department congratulated Detective Denise Tecce on her retirement this past Friday after 28 years of service.

From the department’s post:

Detective Tecce began her career as a Patrol Officer in 1996 and over the years, she served as a SWAT Hostage Negotiator, as a member of the Narcotics Strike Team, Community Policing Unit, as a School Resource Officer and has retired as a Juvenile Detective. She was also the recipient of multiple commendations throughout her career. Denise cared greatly for the job and even more so for the men and women who worked alongside her.

In related news, the department’s Command Staff has been reaccredited by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association for the fourth time since earning their initial accreditation in 2012.

“This is a huge commitment by our agency to ensure we are following the best business practices in law enforcement,” the department said in a post. “The rigorous standards help Law Enforcement Agencies evaluate and improve their overall performance. The cornerstone of this strategy lies in the promulgation of standards containing a clear statement of professional objectives. PLEAC administrators conduct an extensive on-site evaluation to ensure we meet these objectives.”

The department noted the outstanding work by Sgt. Jarreau Francis, Accreditation Manager, and civilian Alexis Girgis, Records Clerk.

“Diligence by all our officers ensures that our work here conforms to the required standards so that we can provide service of the highest quality to our citizens,” the department said.
