Cheltenham High School announces plan for 2020 graduation

Cheltenham High School has announced its plan for a 2020 commencement in lieu of a traditional ceremony due to the pandemic. The plan allows for graduating seniors to cross a stage in front of their immediate family, receive their diploma, and move their tassel. All of this will be done over four dates and will be captured on video.

From the letter sent to students and their families:

We will video every senior having their name called and walking across the stage. Those clips will be edited together, have some production values added and broadcast on a to-be-determined date in mid-June. The virtual graduation recording is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, Thursday, June 4, Friday, June 5 and Monday, June 8 (Rain day, if needed will be Tuesday, June 9) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We are incorporating some of the traditions of graduation such as your procession, picking up your diploma on the stage, and moving your tassel.

In order to accomplish our goals, we need your cooperation. Our videographer will be at Cheltenham High School for four scheduled recording days and it will be busy. Each of you will have a scheduled time to arrive at school for this recording. To replicate the procession, times will be in alphabetical order. This cannot be changed. Yes, the timeline is tight and we need your cooperation to be successful, so please be on time and ready when it’s your turn. We will send out an exact schedule with your student’s time shortly.
