Cheltenham grad, Philly police officer helps driver in need, current senior nearly eclipses his wrestling career win record

August “Auggie” Gershwin, a 2017 Cheltenham High School graduate and a Philadelphia police officer, recently helped a driver in need, local historian Chuck Langerman shared with Glenside Local.

Gershwin finished his Panther wrestling career with a 105-27, the most wins in program history. Senior Arthur “A.J.” Gordon, a 172-pound wrestler, became the second wrestler in Cheltenham history to win 100 matches, notching his 103rd victory in February.

Gordon recently gave a verbal commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. The National Merit Commended Scholar will major in Molecular Biology, Langerman said.
