Cheltenham boys’ basketball clinches 3rd straight Freedom Division title with win over Upper Moreland

The Cheltenham High School boys’ basketball team clinched their third straight Freedom Division title of the Suburban One League with a 49-47 win over Upper Moreland High School.

The win follows a 61-25 victory over New Hope-Solebury on Friday, January 30.

“I am proud of their resilience, and I’m proud that they were able – despite what was going on – to find a way to win,” head coach Patrick Fleury told Suburban One Sports. “We had a conversation about our effort and execution, which in large part is on me, but we need to improve. Now we need to make our push as 15 or 18 deep with the coaches 20 deep and everyone who supports us. We’ve got to just put our heads down and try to make our teammates, our family and our community proud.”

The Panthers, undefeated in league play with an 9-0 record, are ranked 15th in the latest District 1 6A rankings and will host Springfield Township in Tuesday’s division finale.

The game will also be Cheltenham’s Senior Night. The following senior players will be honored:
