Arraignment scheduled for Lebanon man accused of arsons in Upper and Lower Moreland townships

Sean Gahagan, 56, of Lebanon, Pa., waived a preliminary hearing last week and remains in jail on charges of arson, risking a catastrophe, reckless burning or exploding, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, burglary and possessing an instrument of crime, The Pottstown Mercury said.

Gahagan is accused of intentionally setting fires at JG Transmissions, an auto mechanic shop at 616 Davis Road in Willow Grove in Upper Moreland Township, and on a residential property in the Huntingdon Valley section of Lower Moreland Township on December 29, 2023.

Gahagan was a former employee of JG Transmissions.

He will remain in jail in lieu of $500,000 cash bail. His formal arraignment hearing is scheduled for March 13, the Mercury said. A county judge will set the trial date after that.
