Armed robbery at Dunkin’ Donuts in Jenkintown may be tied to similar incident in Upper Moreland, police say

The Jenkintown Police Department is on the lookout for a black adult male who committed an armed robbery of the Dunkin’ Donuts at 445 Old York Road in Jenkintown on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 12.

“The male was dressed in all black with a face covering. He came in and pointed a gun at the clerk while another patron was trying to place an order,” Chief of Police Tom Scott told Glenside Local. “He basically had them hand over the money from the register and then quickly left the scene and ended up on Johnson Street. We lost him from there.”

Chief Scott noted that the suspect may have also been involved in a similar incident in Upper Moreland Township roughly an hour prior on Wednesday.

“We’re going to be working together to try and ID him,” Chief Scott said. “Our goal is try to catch him.”

If you have any information regarding either of the incident or the suspect(s) involved, you are asked to contact the Jenkintown Police Department at 215-884-1200 or the Upper Moreland Police Department at 215-657-4700.
