Arcadia relaunches the Nyerere Centre for Peace Research in Tanzania

On Wednesday, Arcadia University signed a memorandum of understanding with the East African Community and American Graduate School in Paris to relaunch the Nyerere Centre for Peace Research in Tanzania, which was closed because of COVID-19. The center is a joint effort that promotes a peaceful and prosperous East Africa.

Dr. Peter Mathuki, Secretary General of the East African Community, held a session with Arcadia students to discuss the East African Community’s contribution to various international bodies such as the United Nations General Assembly.

“We are ready to support in mobilizing resources that will aid in strengthening this great center that will provide a unique interface between policy makers and regional and national opinion leaders and provide a forum for informal discussion that impact on the globe,” Provost Jeff Rutenbeck told RegionWeek.
