The Abington School District announced that the senior high school’s chess team (Doron Fox, Joe Clark, Sofi Ebora, and Kareem Trickey) finished second in the U1300 division at the Pennsylvania State Scholastic Championship over the weekend in Harrisburg.
Fox and Clark ended the day with third and tenth place finishes, respectively, in their individual play. Erik Jazexhiu placed tenth in the U1000 division, while Sofi Ebora, Dareece Joyner, and Matan Fox each received commendations for their outstanding play.


The Ghosts will compete at Nationals in Chicago at the end of the month, the district said.
Cheltenham High School Color Guard

The Cheltenham School District announced that the high school color guard kicked off its TIA indoor season with a first-place win at East Brunswick High School over the weekend.
The team, which competed in the Scholastic A class, ended with a score of 73.74 against Brick Memorial High School and Westfield High School.
“CHS Colorguard put on an amazing performance titled ‘Tower of Lies,’ and dominated the competition with excellent choreography, technique, and overall showmanship,” the district said in a post.
