Abington Township to hold Conditional Use Hearings for 2 Abington School District properties, proposed life care facility and nursing home

The Abington Township Board of Commissioners will hold two Conditional Use Hearings this month.

The first will discuss Chaverim Realty Partners, LLC’s property located at 1209 Rydal Road and is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14 at 6:30pm.

This is an application requesting Conditional Use approval pursuant to Section 301 of the Abington Township Zoning Ordinance to permit Use E-10: Life Care Facility (Continuing Care) and Use E-12: Nursing Home in the R-1 Low-Density Residential Zoning District.

A copy of the application is on file with the Code Enforcement Office of the Township of Abington and may be reviewed by appointment only between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please contact the Township at tcastorina@abingtonPA.gov or (267) 536-1003 to schedule an appointment.

Please note, testimony from residents with party status and general public comment for those without party status is expected to be taken at this meeting. Anyone wishing to make testimony or comments must attend in person unless other accommodations are made with the Township in advance of the meeting. The second will discuss Abington School District’s properties located at 2056 Susquehanna Road and 970 Highland Avenue and is scheduled for Thursday, July 16 at 6:00pm.

This is an application requesting Conditional Use approval pursuant to Section 2103.E of the Abington Township Zoning Ordinance to permit development of more than 30,000 sq ft of new floor area of a Use E-14: School or College – Public/Private in the CS Community Service Zoning District.
