In related news, township officials announced that area residents looking to join the pools this summer will need to have a new photo ID taken due to a new online registration host.

From the announcement:

“Prior year membership cards are not compatible with the new system. Photo IDs can be taken at the Parks and Recreation Office (515 Meetinghouse Rd.), Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. To help facilitate this change over, we have also expanded our additional hours at Crestmont Clubhouse (2595 Rubicam Ave.):

  • 5/16: 9 AM – 1 PM
  • 6/10: 5 PM – 8 PM
  • 6/20: 9 AM – 1 PM
  • 6/25: 5 PM – 8 PM

IDs can also be taken at your first visit to the pool. Everyone joining the pools will need an ID, including children. All adults should bring proof of residency. If you have any questions, please contact the Parks and Recreation office at 215-576-5213 or parksinfo@abingtonpa.gov.”

Pool facilities will open on Saturdays and Sundays beginning May 23, and for daily use beginning June 20. The pools will remain open through Labor Day, September 7. To become a member, click here.
