Abington School District to consider whether to provide transportation to non-public school students

One of the two announced items on the agenda for the Abington School Board on August 25th is whether provide transportation to non-public school district students whose schools will be open for in-school instruction. The issue comes from the fact that Abington School District is reopening under an all-virtual model. School districts are normally required to provide this service to all school students, whether they go to a public school or not.

This is a growing issue across the region as districts have announced all-virtual reopenings. KYW Newsradio 1060 has a report (article here):

Cheltenham School District determined that week that it will provide transportation to non-public school students.
