Amelia, a student at Abington Middle School, recently launched Amelia’s Little Library at a meal site in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
According to Thomas Frey, Director at The Everywhere Project, Amelia has been volunteering with the Philadelphia-based harm reduction nonprofit for years and reached out to him in early November with a concern.
“Amelia suggested she set up a little library with crafts and books so the little kids wouldn’t have to stand in line with parents waiting for food,” Frey told Glenside Local. “This girl is a rock star.”
Frey noted that Amelia’s Little Library is currently accepting books, toys and crafts. Monetary donations can be sent to https://www.everywhereproject.org/donation-form.
Drop off donations can be delivered to 2814 Turner Avenue, Abington.
