Glenside Lanes, the home of six locally owned businesses at 2256 Mt. Carmel Avenue, was featured over the weekend by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The former optometrist’s office was once home to a bowling alley and billiards hall. Developer Kevin Burke, a Glenside native, bought the property in 2024.
The Dovetail, The CO Lab, Vinyl Chickie, Align Barre & Fitness, and For the People Bread & Tea were the space’s original tenants when it opened in May 2025. The Raven Cafe opened in June.
“Like the newly bustling Yorkway Place in Jenkintown, Glenside Lanes balances traditional retail with experiential businesses,” The Inquirer wrote. “The Montgomery County venues are part of a national trend, as investors look to fill commercial space hollowed out by online shopping and post-pandemic consumer shifts.”
A concert and event space is expected as early as November. Burke also plans to develop a similar multi-use site in Wyncote, The Inquirer said.
Glenside Local will be in touch with more details about those plans.
