Upper Moreland senior LAX standout named All-American for second straight year

Annalise Messina, an Upper Moreland senior midfielder, has been named a USA Lacrosse All-American for the second year in a row.

Messina notched the 400-goal milestone last month. Last year, she was also the Courier Times/Intelligencer Player of the Year in addition to receiving All-American honors. Her career accolades also include being named an IL Women ID experience invitee, an Under Armour 150 All-Star, and a First Team Suburban One League selection.

Messina has committed to continue her career at Rutgers University.

According to Suburban One Sports, in late May, Upper Moreland held off Mount St. Joseph to reach the PIAA tournament for the third straight season.

On Tuesday, June 3 the Golden Bears took down Cardinal O’Hara High School 7-6 in double overtime. They were defeated by Abington Heights in the PIAA Class 2A quarterfinals 13-7.

Upper Moreland’s season ended with a 15-9 record.
