Cheltenham Township shares reviews of construction projects at The Enclave at Melrose Park, Cedarbrook Middle School, and Arcadia University

Cheltenham Township shared updates regarding several construction projects on Monday, May 19.

The Enclave at Melrose Park, located at 7600 Tookany Creek Parkway, received a review from the township’s engineer.

Ownership submitted a preliminary land development proposal to the township in February which calls for a Class 3 mixed-use development of commercial/retail, medical office building, assisted living, traumatic brain injury center, 172 single-family townhomes, 158 age-restricted units (134 townhomes and 24 flats), and Township public amenities, including a community center and pool. According to a memo, additional improvements include approximately 45 acres of open space, walking trails, and plazas.

A series of updates were published in April. The developers received planning commission feedback at a May 19 meeting. Potential preliminary approval could come in June.

The township’s engineer also reviewed the construction of two building additions totaling 18,972 sf, as well as parking and site improvements on Cedarbrook Middle School’s campus.

On May 6, the township received a preliminary land development application from Arcadia University in Glenside. 

The proposal calls for the construction of a new 80’ x 80’ softball indoor practice facility with new accessible walkways and landscaping.
