The Walgreens at 2727 W Cheltenham Avenue in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township will close for good next month, according to the location’s web page.
“This location will permanently close on May 15. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have prescriptions at this location, learn about filling your Rx at another Walgreens,” an announcement at the top of the page says.
The announcement is part of the pharmacy store chain’s planned shutdowns for underperforming branches across the country. The Walgreens at 901 Old York Road in Jenkintown permanently closed in July 2023 and will soon house a Honeygrow restaurant, a DIG restaurant, a LaserAway treatment center, and a Shake Shack.
The Walgreens at 1 Yorktown Plaza in Elkins Park will remain open, Glenside Local confirmed earlier this month.
According to the property’s listing on Loopnet.com, the 14,335 sf retail space is currently up for lease.
