Hatboro officials announced that the West Monument Avenue bridge will be closed for repairs and maintenance from Wednesday, July 15 through Monday, July 20.

During the closure, there will be no through-traffic on West Monument Avenue between York Road and Blair Mill Road, the notice says.

It continues:

Residents on West Monument Avenue and the surrounding streets will have access to their properties throughout the closure; however, residents should be mindful of the closure when accessing their properties. Residents who live on the Memorial Park side of the bridge will need to access their properties from the Blair Mill Road side of West Monument Avenue. Alternatively, residents who live on the Broad Street side of West Monument Avenue will need to access their properties from the York Road side of West Monument Avenue.

“We are aware that many use this road due to the West Moreland Avenue bridge closure, but because of this closure, West Monument Avenue has seen an increase in traffic, and this is why the bridge needs to be closed for repairs and maintenance to ensure the life expectancy of the bridge,” officials said in a post.

Drivers can use the approved detour during the closure.
