Cheltenham High School experienced a power outage at approximately 6:15am on Friday, March 21, the district announced this morning.
Buses which had already left the bus depot were rerouted to drop students off at Cedarbrook Middle School.
District officials are closing the high school for the day. Students were returned home as of 9:00am.
“We are currently in communication with PECO to determine the estimated time for power restoration. However, given the circumstances, we have made the decision to close school for the day,” the post said. “We are coordinating with the transportation department to arrange for buses to return at 9:00 a.m. to pick up students and return them home.”
