Samuel “Jim” Traub, a Hatboro native and Korean War veteran, passed away on Friday, November 1. He was 95.

According to his obituary, Mr. Traub and his twin brother, John, graduated from Hatboro High in 1948. In 1950, with the outbreak of the Korean War, Jim’s Patrol Squadron was called to active duty. He reported to San Diego for training before heading to NAS Alameda, where his crew was outfitted with a PBM-5 Mariner. From there, they deployed to NS Sangley Point, flying missions over the Sea of Japan and along the coasts of China and North Korea, returning home in 1953.

The Traub brothers went on to work in sales at Fleming Companies.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing beginning at 10:00am on Thursday, November 7 at the Doylestown United Methodist Church. His funeral service will follow at 11:00am with interment at Whitemarsh Memorial Cemetery.
