Warrior’s Garden Spa and Recovery, a health-centric facility, now open in Abington

Warrior’s Garden Spa and Recovery, a one-stop shop for physical recovery, officially opened in July at 600 Huntington Pike in Abington Township.

The body recovery center is owned by brothers Matt and Chris Hill, and the health-based concept is unique to our area. The facility offers Normatec compression suits, red light therapy, infrared saunas, and cold plunges to clients, along with a dose of experience. Both brothers are active competitors in the mixed martial art scene. Matt is a retired Philadelphia police officer and Chris is a Registered Nurse.

Matt’s other business, Primal Nutrition in Philadelphia, mixes sports nutrition with Warrior’s Garden’s approach to sports recovery. Their stretch zone, foam rollers, mobility sticks, and bocci balls are all aimed at enhancing fitness goals, prolonging youth, and reducing pain and anxiety.

“Better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in war,” their website says.

“We get a lot of jiu-jitsu clients, UFC fighters, yoga people. We really want people with injuries to come in and try to get their body back in shape and recover,” Matt said.

Matt is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, most recently competing in North American Grappling Association’s (NAGA) Battle of the Beach in Wildwood, New Jersey.

“I’ve done hundreds of competitions, including muay thai, boxing, and MMA cage fights,” he said. “Chris recently competed at a Superfight called Ground Zero Grappling in Philadelphia. His nursing background gives us all the ins and outs from a health perspective.”
