Wyncote rapper YNG Cheese, son of rapper Gillie Da King, killed in triple shooting

Devin Spady, 25, of Wyncote was killed in a triple shooting Thursday night in Philadelphia’s 5800 block of Mascher Street. Spady has been identified as the son of rapper Gillie Da King (formerly known as Gillie Da Kid), an artist known to speak out against violence.

Spady was transported to Einstein Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:39pm after being shot in the back. He was a rap artist known as YNG Cheese.

According to 6ABC News, a 28-year-old man was shot twice in the leg and a 31-year-old man was shot once in the hip during the incident.

At this time arrests have not been made and a motive has not been established. According to NBC 10, an SUV that was running at the corner of Mascher and Nedro Avenue is now part of the investigation.

“The investigation remains active and ongoing with the Homicide Unit,” a statement from the Philadelphia Police Department said.
