Winter Storm Warning Predicts Up to Eight Inches Tonight and into Tomorrow Morning

March is definitely coming in like a lion this year. Yesterday’s winter storm watch has been upgraded (or downgraded depending on how you feel about snow) to a winter storm warning.

Montgomery County has issued a winter storm warning for our area starting at 3 PM and lasting to 7:00 the following morning. The county expects an accumulation between five to eight inches, which should make for a most unpleasant commute.

From other sources:

6ABC: Meteorologist Chris Sowers says snow and rain develops later this afternoon. Some locations could pick up more than a half a foot of snow.

CBS3’s weather maps show that we’re going to get four to eight inches.

My DarkSky weather app shows the storm warning details, but shows only light rain and light snow over that period.

This is a great weather app, but because the data is crowdsourced, sometimes it takes a while for conditions to update. In my experience, it’s generally accurate.

WXPN this morning forecasts a 100% chance of precipitation with snow and sleet into the early morning tomorrow.
