Willow Grove woman identified in Sunday’s fatal crash in Upper Moreland, investigation underway

Desiree Bellamy, 50, of Willow Grove, was one of two killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in Upper Moreland Township early Sunday morning, the Bucks County Courier Times reported today.

Eric Brown, 29, of Philadelphia was also pronounced dead at the scene. A third vehicle subsequently struck one of the crashed vehicles, which injured two others.

The eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between the Willow Grove and Fort Washington exits were closed for several hours Sunday morning.

Witness told officials on Sunday that two vehicles were racing and lost control. The cause of the accident remains “undetermined,” according to Corporal Richard Levan of the Pennsylvania State Police. Levan said Troop T’s collision analysis and reconstruction unit will release its full report at an undetermined time.

“I can’t confirm or deny that drag racing was a factor,” he told the Times.
