The Greater Glenside Patriotic Association announced that Weldon Fire Company will host an honorary celebration, awards ceremony, and cookout on July 4 for all fire departments, EMS, and first responders who assisted with the SPS Technologies fire on February 17.
All attendees are invited to join in the parade route after the celebration.
“They saved our town from what could have been an unimaginable tragedy. These brave men and women acted selflessly and without fail to ensure our safety, and exemplified true teamwork and dedication,” the GGPA said in a post.

In related news, the GGPA is hosting its annual raffle for a homemade Glenside July 4 quilt.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online until June 30 (via QR code below) or in person at Keswick Coffee House on designated days.
The raffle drawing will be held at the Children’s Morning Program at Harry Renninger Field on July 4.
