Weavers Way Co-op, Philadelphia’s largest grocery cooperative, has opened its fourth location at 328 W. Chelten Avenue in Germantown.
The 6,000 sf member-owned store features a bulk shopping section, a mural, new storefront windows, skylights, a vestibule, forthcoming solar panels, and runs entirely on renewable electricity, directors said.
Personal care and beauty products from Glenside’s Natural Body Essentials will be available among other local vendors.
“I am excited that this day has arrived. Led by General Manager Jon Rosser and the Weavers Way Board of Directors, our presence in Germantown reflects the ongoing dedication of Weavers Way members and staff and the commitment of our elected officials and community partners, all working together to provide one of Philadelphia’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods with delicious, healthy, locally sourced food options,” Cheryl Croxton, President, said.
The location is open daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
Weavers Way has locations in Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill, Ambler, and now Germantown, each of which are open to members and non-members alike.
