Mikel Lancit, a senior at Upper Moreland High School, has been named the Rotary Club Student of the Month for December.

From the district’s announcement:

Mikel is recognized for her dedication, leadership, & service. As Varsity Girls Basketball Captain, Diversity Club leader, & an active National Honor Society member, Mikel demonstrates the Golden Bear spirit through her commitment to excellence & service.

Mikel’s contributions extend beyond school—she volunteers for the Teen Talk Hotline, offering support to struggling teens, & serves as a Cultural Proficiency Equity Student Ambassador. Her achievements include the College Board National African-American Recognition Program, Montco Dual Enrollment Excellence Award, & Suburban One All-League Basketball Selection.

Balancing academics, athletics, & community service, Mikel plans to study psychology on a pre-med track. Congratulations, Mikel!
