An application for an Italian/Mediterranean restaurant at 137 S. Easton Road, the former Won Institute in Glenside, is on Cheltenham Township’s Planning Commission Meeting agenda for Monday, December 18 at 7:30pm.
Clayton Hampton Crossing, LLC, the property’s applicant, is looking to build a two-floor BYOB with outdoor dining in the 15,000 Sf building.
“They’re going through the zoning process right now. We anticipate that they’ll come before the planning commission tonight,” Henry Sekawungu, Cheltenham’s Planning and Zoning Director, said.
The current proposal calls for 138 seats on the first floor, 194 seats on the second floor, and roughly 16 outdoor seats.
They plan to be open seven days a week, though Sekawungu said it could be almost six months until that happens.
“They have to get sewer approval from the state and the property needs building permitting,” he said. “But the start of that is seeking zoning relief, and I don’t see it being denied. That will happen at the January 8 Board of Commissioners meeting.”
The property went up for sale in June 2021 and sold for $700,000 on March 31. Previous applications from other developers have fallen through.
The application’s details begin on page 24 of the Planning Commission agenda:
We will be in touch with more details as they come available. Stay tuned.
