Former Won Institute building back on the market

Dr. Bokin Kim, President of the Won Institute of Graduate Studies, announced in 2019 that the school would be packing up in Glenside and moving to a more expansive building in Warminster.

Since then, the 15,000 Sf building at 137 Easton Road has been patiently waiting for its next tenant. It came close to having a set of offices until plans recently fell through.

Wesley Development Group, which owns and manages a handful of properties in Glenside, submitted paperwork to Cheltenham Township to convert the former institute into a professional office space for doctors, accountants, and lawyers.

Unfortunately, the project won’t come to fruition.

“We decided to go in a different direction,” Mark Irwin, co-owner of the Wesley Development Group, said. “We’re looking for more projects in Glenside. We wish it would’ve worked out, but it just wasn’t the right one for us right now.”

Township officials are working on finding a similarly interesting concept for the mixed-use building, ideally one that drives commerce Glenside’s way. The space comes with many allowable possibilities which range from retail, dining, personal care, offices, and studios for dance, art, and music.
