Two residential burglaries recently took place in Meadowbrook and Huntingdon Valley, Abington police say

The Abington Township Police Department announced that a completed burglary and an attempted burglary of residential homes took place on the evening of Thursday, March 19 in the Meadowbrook and Huntingdon Valley sections of the township.

According to their announcement, both incidents involved the suspects gaining entry by breaking the glass of a sliding door.

“We are asking the residents to be vigilant in watching their neighborhood and calling the Abington Police anytime you think something is suspicious,” the post said. “The Police Department will respond and look into whatever you report.”

The post continues:

For example:

  • If there is a vehicle stopped or parked in your neighborhood or in a nearby parking lot that you feel is suspicious or uncommon please call immediately.
  • If you see an unfamiliar person(s) walking through the area especially in rear yards near wooded areas or hear glass break or any suspicious noise, contact police.
  • If you see anyone around your neighbor’s home or an unfamiliar vehicle report that to police.

It is also important to leave some lights on and set your alarm to help prevent being victimized.
