State Treasurer Stacy Garrity trails Governor Josh Shapiro by seven percentage points, according to a recent poll by National Public Affairs (NPA), an Arlington, Virginia-based firm.
NPA polled 600 likely Pennsylvania voters and determined that Shapiro leads Garrity 50% to 43%.

Question Text: If the November 2026 general election for Governor of Pennsylvania were held today, and the candidates were Josh Shapiro, the Democrat, and Stacy Garrity, the Republican, for whom would you vote? Are you definitely or just probably voting for (CANDIDATE CHOSEN)?
In July, a Quinnipiac University poll of 895 self-identified registered voters had Shapiro leading Garrity 53% to 40%. In February, that ratio was wider still: 55% to 37%.

According to PoliticsPA.com, Garrity leads among men, 48-46%, while Shapiro leads among women, 60-33%.
The top issue for Pennsylvania voters in the Quinnipiac University poll is the economy at 74%. More than 4 in 10 voters (44%) say they are worse off financially than they were a year ago, while 36% say they are better off and 19% say they are about the same.
Election Day is November 3. Pennsylvania voters have until October 19 to register to vote and October 27 to request a mail-in or absentee ballot.
