It seems appropriate after all the rain that’s fallen upon us to revisit this scene from 71 years ago on Easton Road in Keswick Village. We’re looking north in this photo towards the Weldon Fire Company on the left side. The women look like they are walking past what is now O’Neil’s Market.

Thankfully, our area hasn’t experienced this level of flooding recently, but it reminds us not to be lulled into a false sense of security.
