Three CHS grads competed for MCCC’s record-breaking men’s basketball team this year

Cheltenham High School grads Brandon Bush (left, 2022), Sean Emfinger (middle, 2020) and Frank Saintildor (right, 2020) each competed for the Montgomery County Community College men’s basketball team this year.

The program qualified for the eight-team 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Men’s Basketball Championship held at Herkimer College in Herkimer, New York from March 13 -16.

Bush and Emfinger were starters for the Montco Mustangs, while Saintildor was a key reserve. Bush earned 3rd Team All Region Honors averaging 13.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists.

Even though the Mustangs finished in sixth-place in the championship tournament, their 27-3 record was the best in the Blue Bell school’s history.

In early March, the Mustangs took down #1 Brookdale Community College 71-69 to capture the Region 19 Championship and secure an automatic bid to the National Tournament.
