Three Cheltenham grads seeing professional success: Jason Rice (’89), Ron Patterson (’96), Jack Clark (’18)

Local historian Chuck Langerman has highlighted the current professional statuses of three Cheltenham alumni:

Jason Rice (above left)

Rice, a 1989 graduate, is a Director in the Corporate Finance Group of EisnerAmper in New York City.

Rice has more than 17 years of business valuation experience. His background includes managing and performing valuations of business enterprises, equity, and intangible assets for tax (gift and estate) and financial reporting purposes. His industry experience includes manufacturing, utilities, financial services, health care, technology, and consumer business.

He is also actively involved with professional organizations, assisting in the training and mentoring of staff, and the recruitment of new employees.

Rice holds an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University Business School and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife and son and enjoys photography, coaching youth sports, mentoring staff at work, and volunteering.

Patterson, a 1996 graduate, is the Vice President of Information Technology at Project HOME, a nationally recognized non-profit organization which empowers adults, children and families in Philadelphia to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by providing a continuum of care that addresses and alleviates the underlying causes of homelessness, including mental illness and substance use disorder.

Patterson has 20 years of experience in management consultation, team building, professional development, strategic implementation, and company collaboration. Prior to joining Project HOME, he worked for another mission-driven organization that supported seniors by providing Home Care services. There he led several initiatives to help seniors maintain their quality of life.

Patterson graduated from the University of Richmond in 2001 and has an MBA from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

At Cheltenham High, he was a star running back/defensive back on the football field and a sprinter on the Panther track and field team. In 1995, he rushed for 1,533 yards and went over 100 yards nine times, including the season-ending game with Abington in which he rushed for two touchdowns in the Panthers’ 14-0 victory over the Ghosts.

Jack Clark (above right)

Clark, a 2018 graduate and Virginia Commonwealth University forward, scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Rams to a 78-69 victory over the St. Joseph’s University Hawks in front of family and friends on Friday, January 17 at St. Joe’s Hagan Arena in Philadelphia.

The 6’10” graduate student knocked down 5-of-8 attempts from the floor, including 3-of-4 from beyond the three-point line. Two of his 3-pointers came late in the second half to clinch the victory for Virginia Commonwealth.
