Then and Again in Glenside has closed for good, ownership bids farewell

Chip and Barbara Masemore, owners of Then and Again at 221 S Easton Road in Glenside (Abington Township), have closed up shop for good.

According to Barbara, one of their daughters relocated to Virginia roughly a month ago, and the Masemores followed her to start a new life.

Then and Again sold repurposed pieces from the workshop of Chip. The storefront featured traditional collectibles like prints, vintage signs, furniture, and toys and salvaged wooden windows and doors.

The Masemores first opened in 2019 after retiring from innkeeping in Cape May, New Jersey.

“I miss Glenside. It’s a wonderful place to live and we were delighted with the people we got to know through Then and Again,” Barbara said. “I was very active in downtown Glenside and we were very well received. My husband will continue to be creative. We don’t have the shop now, but Glenside will always be a part of my story.”

The three-bed, three-bath property is currently on the market for $480,000. Barbara said the layout’s duality of chaos and quiet reflected her experience in Glenside.

“That house is busy in front, but has the most quiet, peaceful, restful area in the rear with trees and a stocked fishpond,” she said, noting that the fish made it through the winter. “It’s just like Glenside: peaceful, yet busy.”
