When asked if Airbnb has terms in its agreements with Airbnb hosts that mandate that Airbnb hosts operate in a lawful manner and pay all appropriate taxes, the response from Airbnb was:
“We encourage hosts to think carefully about their responsibilities,” stated Ms. Liz DeBold Fusco, Northeast Press Secretary for Airbnb. “Hosting offers rich experiences, but it comes with a certain level of commitment. In addition to the basic requirements that we expect of all hosts, we urge hosts to be responsible here.”
