Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Glenside will host their annual Red Cross blood drive on Saturday, February 17 from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
All donors will receive a $20 Amazon gift card via email from the Red Cross, and volunteer event organizer Kate Boyce has partnered with local businesses for thank you gifts.
According to Boyce, Saint Peter’s community-oriented blood drive offers donors a “Thank you pint.”
“It could be a pint of beer at the Glenside Pub. Or it could be ice cream from Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe in Elkins Park. It really makes donors feel pretty special and it shows what amazing businesses we have in our area,” Boyce, who worked in the lab at Abington Hospital for 40 years, said. “It also encourages people to bring a friend with them, because who’s going to go get that beer all by themselves!”
