Mitchell Beck of the Oreland Fire Company and Henry Hasty of the Flourtown Fire Company received the third annual David G. Kelble Jr. Memorial Scholarship on Tuesday, June 2.

Beck and Hasty are seniors at Springfield Township High School.

The scholarship came on behalf of Helmets Off 4 David, a Glenside-based nonprofit, for outstanding volunteer service. The award is given annually to a graduating student in memory of David G. Kelble, Jr., a 1998 graduate of Abington High School and an Abington Township Fire Department volunteer.
